Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I know I sure did. Celebrated with a good ol' American Barbecue! To kick off Memorial Day weekend, I had the most magical Friday. I was so fortunate to work with the most talented wedding vendors to create a to-die-for styled wedding in Logan, Utah.
Coordinating this shoot took about a month, for other wedding planners or photographers interested in doing a styled shoot. It was the perfect amount of time. I researched vendors (on Instagram) and rounded up the PERFECT team. Brides, take note: you will DEFINITELY want these vendors for your wedding.
It all started with a really really late night Facebook conversation with an old friend of mine, Rachel from Rachel Hudson Photography. I was letting her know that I was starting this wedding consulting business and that I wanted her to be one of my preferred photographers. She is talented, professional, and we are old friends, so I knew we would work well together. She then planted the idea for this shoot by saying: Round up some of your favorite vendors and let's do a styled wedding shoot! I was immediately on board and so excited. After tinkering around with ideas, I decided I wanted to do a Boho Chic wedding shoot. I am absolutely in love with the Photobooth Bus, and I thought they would fit perfectly with the boho theme. They had other arrangements that they had to be at on the day of the shoot, but don't worry, we'll get them later! Without the photobooth bus, I knew I didn't want to dive too much into the boho, so I tamed it down with some shabby chic, rustic, and vintage infusions. I wanted mostly whites, creams, browns, and golds with pops of mint and blush. I loved this color scheme. I incorporated lace, burlap, chalkboard, and lots of organics to go for a natural feel. I, of course, wanted a flower crown. I knew exactly who I wanted too: Fox and Fern Flowers. I couldn't be more thrilled when Courtney agreed to join us for this collaboration. The rest of the vendors came with research, talented friends, and lots of emailing. I had a friend who is a graphic designer and a friend who is a hair/makeup artist, both agreed to join the team. The dress designer and cake designer were Instagram finds and I couldn't be more happy with their work! The one vendor I struggled with was a florist. I knew Courtney did flower crowns, but I needed someone for the brides bouquet and floral decor. I must have contacted at least 10 florists that were all busy or not interested in a collaboration. Then I emailed Courtney and found out she works at a flower shop! So she and her boss at A Little Flower Floral Designs worked together to create the beautiful floral arrangements we had for the shoot. I contacted diamond rental for our table, chair, china, and linen rentals and they were more than willing! They are pretty awesome too, and have such a variety! My beautiful friends, the Vissers (who had just celebrated their one year anniversary), agreed to be our models. Next was location.
Rachel and I REALLY wanted an outdoor shoot, like up a canyon or something. How magical would that have been for our boho chic theme? But the weather was not permitting an outdoor shoot. I did some research and found the Old Coach Building. Rachel did some research to get their contact information and we booked the place! Now, let me tell you about this hidden jewel. This place has no website or any marketing tools. How did we find this place? Through another photographer's website. I was able to get little snippets of how the building look but I had no idea how absolutely stunning it was until we got inside. How is this place not advertised?! EVERYONE in Logan should have their wedding there. But seriously.
Anyway, I had such a wonderful time coordinating and designing this shoot. The team worked so well together which made the shoot extremely easy and relaxed. Thanks again to the wonderful team involved!
